Music Ministries

When we think about Lutherans and worship, one of our next thoughts is usually about music. If you like to sing, play handbells, or play a musical instrument, there is a place for you within our music ministries.

The ensembles described below are an integral part of our vibrant worship life at Resurrection.  We also incorporate the gifts of many soloists and small instrumental ensembles to add strings, brass, woodwinds, and percussion to our worship music.

We are blessed with a state-of-the-art Rodgers Infinity Series 361 digital organ with Natural Pipe Realism technology and a Kawai 5-½ foot grand piano as the primary instruments for accompanying worship.

If you are interested in any of these ensembles, you can contact Rebecca Vernon, our Voice & Handbells Choirs Director.

Senior Choir

Using talented voices along with piano, organ, and other instruments, the Senior Choir (9th  grade and older) brings additional musical accents and helps lead our worship services. We sing, laugh, and pray on Wednesday evenings during the school year in preparation to share these talents during worship services.

Rehearsals are Wednesday at 7:15 p.m.

Children’s Choir

The Children’s Choir (grades 1-8) sings twice a month during Sunday worship and meets for a fun practice Wednesday evenings during the school year. Close friendships are formed as the members share the love of Jesus with each other.

Rehearsals are Wednesday at 6 p.m.

Grace Notes Bell Choir

Grace Notes (9th grade and older) is an adult handbell choir that practices every Wednesday and plays in worship twice a month from September through May. The players enhance the worship service and enjoy making beautiful music. This group has made great strides in playing many musical techniques. Friendships emerge surrounded by good music.

Rehearsals are Wednesday at 6:15 p.m.

Joyful Ringers Bell Choir

With a mission to enhance worship through music, the Joyful Ringers (grades 3-8) also learn to grow spiritually, and to have fun!  We meet Wednesday evenings during the school year learning to play handbells, try handbell techniques, and to feel what music is all about. Typically, music is shared twice a month from September through May.

Rehearsals are Wednesday at 5:15 p.m.
