About the Appeal
A letter from the pastors
Dear Friends,
We are a Resurrection people!
Our congregation’s character has always been shaped by the name that we bear. We are a people of hope, of promise, a people called by the grace of God to witness to the new life that is ours in Christ Jesus. We trust that our character is also reflected in the name of the Capital Fund Appeal:
Building on Promises
We are indeed a Resurrection people who have built our congregation on a bold foundation of Resurrection hope, from the small group of southside folks who started with nothing, to the dynamic community of faith that stretches our facilities to the limits today.
Always at the center of our ministry are God’s promises: of unconditional love, of abundance, of resurrection, of hope.
We are proclaiming our congregation’s daring dream to build on the promises of God and issues forth a joyful invitation for all of us to make promises of our own: promises of prayer, of generous support, of a commitment to share the new life we know in Christ with people who have yet to walk through our doors, who long for a renewal in their lives that only Christ’s Cross and Resurrection can give.
We are at a transformational moment in our congregation’s history. We ask you, then, to read to learn about Building on Promises by attending worship and reading all the printed material.
Above all, we ask you to be in prayer, to be open to joy and the spiritual growth that happens when our generosity is freed beyond what we could imagine. When we dare to build on promises of God.
